Theatre Department

Production Participation Policy

Our Policy:

UT Theatre faculty reserve the right and the responsibility to control casting and other production assignment choices for UT Theatre productions. This includes the right to make adjustments in casting and other assignments as student success and the success of the production require. Full-time UT students who are declared theatre majors and who are enrolled in class for the entire semester in which the production is mounted receive priority in being awarded performance roles and production assignments for which faculty determine they are prepared. Full-time students with majors other than theatre get secondary priority. All students who participate in UT Theatre productions will be required to register for the course or courses that correspond to their assignments. UT Theatre also encourages community involvement and welcomes the public to participate in productions unless otherwise advertised. Community members who are cast or who accept other production assignments may be required to register for at least 1 credit of Production Practicum.

We appreciate the ongoing support and the enthusiasm of our community members. We hope to see you again soon!
